Embedding Reports

This guide will walk you through the process of embedding reports into Intelexos. With just a few steps, you’ll have your reports integrated and ready for use within the application.


Step 1: Navigate to the Reports Admin Page

  1. Log in to the Intelexos admin portal.
  2. Navigate to the Reports section in the admin dashboard.
  3. Click the Create New button to start adding a report.

Step 2: Fill Out the Add Item Dialog

A dialog titled Add Item will appear. This is where you configure the details of the report or dataset you want to embed. The dialog contains the following fields:

  • Select Connection Profile: Choose the connection profile you previously configured. This profile ensures secure communication with Power BI APIs.
  • Select Workspace: Select the Power BI workspace that contains the report or dataset you want to embed.
  • Type: Use the toggle to filter available items by:
    • All Items: Displays all available content.
    • Reports: Displays only standard Power BI reports.
    • Paginated: Displays paginated reports.
    • Datasets: Displays datasets for data exploration.
  • Item: Choose the specific report or dataset you want to add to Intelexos.

Once you fill out the required fields, Intelexos will test the connection to ensure it can access the selected item.

Handling Row-Level Security (RLS)

If the report requires Row-Level Security (RLS):

  • Intelexos will prompt you to specify the RLS roles for the report.
  • The username used for RLS is currently restricted to the user’s email address.

If the report does not require RLS, this step will be skipped automatically.

Step 3: Configure Report Details

After successfully connecting to the report, click Continue in the dialog. This will take you to the report details page. Here, you can:

General Settings

  • Display Name: Provide a user-friendly name for the report.
  • Description: Add an optional description to clarify the report’s purpose.
  • Default Page: Specify the page that will load by default when users access the report.

Options

  • Show on User’s Homepage: Display the report as a card on the homepage instead of within a folder.
  • Show Filter Pane: Enable or disable the filter pane for the Power BI report.
  • Show Page Navigation: Show or hide the page navigation within the embedded report.

A preview of the embedded report will be shown on this page, allowing you to verify the configuration.

Step 4: Save the Report

Once you’ve configured all settings:

  1. Click Save to finalize the report configuration.
  2. The report will now be available in Intelexos and ready for use.

With these steps complete, your report is now embedded in Intelexos. You can continue to add more reports, datasets, or paginated reports as needed.
